The Dead Sea Borehole The Longest Archive of the Late Quaternary Levant Geological and Geophysical Environments
Startdate: 25 November, 2018
Enddate: 28 November, 2018
Status: held
The Dead Sea is a prime site for paleo-environmental research: climate and seismicity. These subjects stand in the focus of the ICDP – Dead Sea deep drilling project. The workshop will bring together scientists and students that have been involved in the investigation of the Dead Sea cores as well as scientists and students from the broader geoscience community. We will present and discuss the achievements and progress in the research. Central topics of the study are highly relevant to current environmental issues such as global warming and aridification.
The workshop will be held in the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies at The Hebrew University, Edmond J. Safra Campus, Givat Ram, Jerusalem.
